Lawrence Joseph Kipping June 8, 1929 – July 27, 2020

Lawrence Joseph Kipping Sr., of Triplett, MO, passed away at the age of 91 years, to be with his Lord and Savior on July 27, 2020.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Brunswick, MO on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 11:00 A.M.  Father Boniface will officiate the service.  Visitation will be held prior to the service, at the church, from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.  Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in Brunswick, MO.  Full military honors will be provided by the Brunswick American Legion Post #7.

Lawrence was born on June 8, 1929 in Pettis County, MO, the son of Joseph and Wilhemena (Tilling) Kipping.  He attended school in Wakenda, MO and on January 23, 1952 he enlisted into the United States Army.  Lawrence served during the Korean War and earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal.  He was honorably discharged on December 23, 1953.

On August 27, 1955 Lawrence married the love of his life, Sandra Louise Smith, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carrollton, MO.  Together they were blessed with three children, Larry, Paul, and Andrea.  Lawrence and Sandra shared over 50 years together until her passing on November 8, 2005.

Lawrence was a lifetime row crop farmer.  He drove the school bus for many years after retiring from farming.  He loved his family, his friends, farming, working on machinery, fishing, and watching sports.  He was a devoted member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Brunswick, MO.  Lawrence was a board member and president of the Northwestern School Board for multiple terms.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and a 48-year member of the Brunswick American Legion Post #7.

Lawrence is survived by his three children, Lawrence “Larry” Kipping Jr. and his wife Diane of Liberty, MO, Paul Kipping and his wife Kathy of Kansas City, MO, and Andrea Kipping and her spouse Julie Annett of Blue Springs, MO; six grandchildren, Jason Kipping and his wife Jordan of Liberty, MO, Kristin Schuchmann Michaels and her husband Justin of Grain Valley, MO, Keri Kipping Damgar and her husband Casey of Kansas City, MO, Janet Kipping Otto and her husband Jason of Peculiar, MO, Amy Kipping and her fiancé Stephen Fannin of Kansas City, KS, and Bryan Kipping and his fiancé Lana Teegarden of Kearney, MO; six great-grandchildren, Ricky Michaels, Grayson Otto, Jackson Michaels, Rowen Otto, Taylor Michaels, and Emery Damgar; five siblings, Arthur Kipping and his wife Mary of Carrollton, MO, Bill Kipping of Carrollton, MO, Frances Vogel and her husband, Mike of Marshall, MO, and Fred Kipping and his wife Judy of Carrollton, MO.  Lawrence is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Wilhemena; his beloved wife, Sandra; and two sisters, Mary Ann Miller and Evelyn McCorkle.

Pallbearers will be Jason Kipping, Bryan Kipping, Justin Michaels, Jason Otto, Stephen Fannin, and Casey Damgar.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the Knights of Columbus Council #9478, Brunswick American Legion Post #7, or St. Boniface Catholic Church.  Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, Missouri 65236.
