Eunice Jane (Williams) Blunk March 22, 1933 – January 3, 2020

Eunice Jane “Grannie” (Williams) Blunk, 86 of Brunswick, MO, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Moberly, MO.  Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Brunswick, MO on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10:00 A.M.  Pastor Theiss will officiate the service. Visitation will precede the service on Monday from 9:00-10:00 A.M. at the Church.   Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery in Brunswick, MO.

Eunice was born on March 22, 1933 in Sugartree, MO, the daughter of Nelson and Alma (Ferguson) Williams.  In 1951, Eunice graduated from Carrollton High School in Carrollton, MO.  On March 1, 1957 she was united in marriage to Marvin Blunk at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Brunswick, MO.  Together they were blessed with two children, Lanett and Dennis.  Marvin preceded her in death on April 6, 1998.

After high school, Eunice worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Carrollton, MO, was a homemaker, and later worked as a farm laborer, which included driving a semi-truck.  Eunice enjoyed gardening, quilting, and bird watching.

She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, was in choir, the Alter Guild, taught Sunday school, taught vacation bible school, helped with Heit’s Point Lutheran Camp, and was very active with Lutheran Braille Workers.  Eunice was a member of Tri-T, Modern Homebuilders, AAL, and LWML.

Eunice is survived by her two children, Lanett Jauss and her husband Mark of New London, MO and Dennis Blunk and his wife Linda of Brunswick, MO; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Williams and his wife Doris of Harrisonville, MO; and one sister-in-law, Lois Williams of Carrollton, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, and four siblings.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and their spouses, Nicole Gilbert and her husband Joel, Natalie Colosky and her husband Andrew, Matthew Blunk and his wife Anna, and Ashley Monroe and her husband Daniel.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Lutheran Braille Workers.  Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
