Freddie Siefkas October 20, 1935 – September 14, 2019

Freddie Siefkas, 83, of Brunswick, MO passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO after fighting cancer since April of 2017. Funeral services will be held at Breshears Memorial Chapel in Brunswick, MO on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. Reverend Lanny Lybarger will officiate the service. Visitation will precede the service on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 A.M.  Burial will be in City Cemetery in Brunswick, MO.  Full military honors will be performed by Brunswick American Legion Post #7.

Freddie was born on October 20, 1935 in Patterson, MO, the son of Fred and Zelma (Thurber) Siefkas.  In 1954 Freddie graduated from Brunswick High School in Brunswick, MO.  That fall, on his 19th birthday, Freddie enlisted into the United States Army.  He honorably served his country until August 30, 1957 and during his service received the Good Conduct Medal.  Freddie joined the National Guard on November 21, 1978 and served until January 30, 1987.

After being honorably discharged, Freddie worked for Green Quarries near Excelsior Springs, MO, Ed Iskenderian Racing Cams in Inglewood, CA, and Builtmore Mobile Homes in Carrollton, MO.  In 1971 Freddie began working for JoMac Glove Factory in Brunswick, MO and worked there for 29 ½ years until he retired in 2000.

On August 1, 1995 Freddie married Delores Dowling in Brunswick, MO.  He was a member of the VFW and the Brunswick American Legion Post #7.  Freddie enjoyed playing guitar and the banjo, mechanics, gardening, animals, and being outdoors.

Freddie is survived by his beloved wife of the home, Delores; four children, Jeffrey Shane Siefkas of Lexington, MO, Rene Wellington (Charity) Siefkas of Norborne, MO, Lisa Dawn (David) Dyke of Kansas City, MO, and James Joseph Siefkas of Kansas City, MO; three step-children, Bruce (Janet) Geromini of Bosworth, MO, Vicki Arrowood of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Steven (Shanna) Taylor of Lee’s Summit, MO; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and six step great-grandchildren.  Freddie is also survived by three siblings, Earl (Sue) Siefkas of Lee’s Summit, MO, Donald (Barbara) Siefkas of Tampa, FL, and Michael (Judy) Siefkas of Brunswick, MO; and his best friend, Bill Hardwick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard Siefkas, one stepson, Jim Geromini, and one son-in-law, Randy Arrowood.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Siefkas, Steve Taylor, James Siefkas, Bruce Geromini, Dave Dyke, and Ryan Hedgpeth.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Siefkas and Kelly Siefkas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Larry’s Warrior Foundation.  Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
