Steven Jon Dankert May 24, 1956 – June 7, 2018

Steven “Steve” Jon Dankert, 62, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his residence in Brunswick, MO. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Brunswick, MO on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Drewitz officiating. Visitation will be held at Breshears Memorial Chapel in Brunswick, MO on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Brunswick, MO.
Steve was born on May 24, 1956 in Columbia, MO, the son of Vic and Arloa (Lenz) Dankert. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1974. On August 10, 1979, Steve married Rhonda Anne White and they were blessed with one son, Blake.
Steve worked for the Lewis & Clark survey company, Wilson Foods, which later became Tyson Foods, and in 2004, Steve began working at Mid-Missouri Energy.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He was also a great storyteller and philosopher who loved spending time with his friends and family.
Steve was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Arloa, and his mother-in-law, Mildred White.
He is survived by his beloved wife of the home, Rhonda; his son, Blake Dankert of Kansas City, MO; his father, Vic of Lee’s Summit, MO; his sister, Sherry Dankert of Riverside, MO; his father-in-law, Bill White of Brunswick, MO; his brother-in-law, Roger White; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Reyne Breshears of Brunswick, MO; two nieces, Hannah (Steven) Kelm of Kansas City, MO and Megan Breshears of Columbia, MO; and two nephews, Hayden White of DeWitt, MO and Miles Breshears of Brunswick, MO.
Pallbearers will be Gary Woolston, Randy Meyer, John Heisel, Todd Lenz, Hayden White, and Miles Breshears. Honorary pallbearers will be Kirk Gunn, Chuck Dickerson, Herbie Kistler, Don Breshears, Roger White, Steven Kelm, Dennis Widhalm, Kevin Hennosy, Travous Lenz and Michael Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, St. John’s Lutheran Church, or the Brunswick Redevelopment Revitalization Committee. Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
