David “Possum” Stuart Meyer July 27, 1961 – July 10, 2017

David “Possum” Stuart Meyer, 55, of Brunswick, MO died on Monday, July 10, 2017 at North Kansas City Hospital. Memorial services will be held at the Brunswick High School, Brunswick, MO, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. Mark Schuchmann and Gail Brown officiating. Visitation will precede the memorial service from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. Inurnment will be in the Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, MO at a later date.
David “Possum” Meyer was born on July 27, 1961, in Moberly, MO, the son of Ralph “Punkin” Leon and Patricia Ann (Guilford) Meyer. He graduated from Brunswick High School. “Possum” worked as a Farm Hand for several years and was a heavy equipment operator for eleven years. “Possum” never met a stranger and always had time for a chat. He loved Brunswick, he loved hunting and fishing, and he especially loved his family.
“Possum” was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for eleven years. He was also a member of the Brunswick Christian Church.
“Possum” is survived by his mother, Patricia Ann Meyer; three daughters, Emilee Wilson (Corey), Keytesville, Bailey Meyer, Brunswick, Rylee Meyer, Brunswick; five siblings, Steven Meyer (Diann), Brunswick, Stephanie Kuhler, Brunswick, Randy Meyer (Roseanne), Brunswick, Sherry Hamilton, Brunswick, Marcie Lock (Pat), DeWitt; three grandchildren, Marlee Wilson, Zephyr Wilson, and Charlee Wilson.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his great nephew, Isaiah Meyer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Diehl, David Lentz, Jeff Fletcher, Jerry Fletcher, Chester Blackington, Ron Monnig, Cole Cruse, Pat Lock, James Burks, Bobby Meyer, Steve Meyer, Clint Elliott, Bruce Harmon, Allen Fletcher, and Charlie Brown Hamilton.
Memorials can be made to Family Choice, the Brunswick Christian Church, and the Brunswick Revitalization Committee.
