William Everett “Bill” Gann September 6, 1936 – December 30, 2023

William Everett “Bill” Gann, 87, of Brunswick, MO, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Brunswick Nursing and Rehab in Brunswick, MO.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Bill, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on September 6, 1936 in Brunswick, MO, the son of William and Mary (Mason) Gann.  He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1954.  On September 28, 1954, he enlisted into the United States Air Force.  During his time of service, he earned the Good Conduct Medal with 2 Bars, the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Air Force 900-10 Award, and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.  Bill honorably served his country until October 9, 1964.

On July 2, 1955, Bill was united in marriage to Connie Dee DeWeese, at the Brunswick Baptist Church.  Together they were blessed with two daughters, Rhonda and Reba.  After his military service, Bill worked for the United States Postal Service in Kansas City, MO and then transferred to the Post Office in Marceline, MO where he became the Post Master.  He worked in Marceline until his retirement in 1991.

Bill was a member of the Brunswick Christian Church and the Brunswick American Legion Post #7.  He loved spending time with family and friends, and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.

Bill is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda Widhalm and her husband Dennis or Brunswick, MO and Reba Gann of Lexington, MO; three grandchildren, Aaron Widhalm and his wife Cherilyn of Pleasant Hill, MO, Andrea Elliott and her husband Robie of Oak Grove, MO, and Jason Widhalm and his wife Elaine of Brunswick, MO; and six great-grandchildren, Trey Widhalm, Aby Widhalm, Cole Elliott, Easton Elliott, Max Widhalm, and Camrey Widhalm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Connie, and his Great-Grandson, Cameron Widhalm.

Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Widhalm, Jason Widhalm, Robie Elliott, John Watkins, Wayne Fletcher, Wayne DeWeese, and Jeff DeWeese.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Brunswick Christian Church Building Fund.  Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
