Lewis Andrew Wilson April 7, 1941 – January 26, 2023

Lewis Andrew Wilson, 81, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at his home in Osage Beach, MO.  A visitation will be held at Breshears Memorial Chapel in Brunswick, MO on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.  Graveside services with full military honors will follow the visitation and will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in DeWitt, MO.  Reverend Lanny Lybarger will officiate the service and Brunswick American Legion Post #7 will conduct the honors.

Lewis was born on April 7, 1941, in Carrollton, MO, the son of Lester Hughes and Lucille Elizabeth (Lewis) Wilson.  Lewis attended high school in Kansas City, KS.  On September 23, 1958, Lewis enlisted into the United States Army.  During his time of service, he earned the expert (rifle) marksmanship badge, the sharpshooter (pistol) marksmanship badge, and the expert infantryman badge.  Lewis honorably served his country until September 26, 1961.

On October 12, 1961, Lewis began working for the General Motors Delco Battery factory in Olathe, KS.  He worked there until his retirement in January of 1997.  Lewis was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the United Auto Workers Union.  Lewis loved spending time with his family and friends, collecting guns, target practicing, gambling, fishing, watching movies, going to antique shops, thrift shops, auctions, and Walmart.

Lewis is survived by his beloved Fiancée, Janet Smith; his two children, Debra Sapp and her husband Miguel Valdez of Odessa, MO and David Wilson and his wife Adriana of Belton, MO; he is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Lucille Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Zane Wilson, Alex Tindle, Kevin Kempf, Daniel Hall, Dennis Marko, and Justice Simpson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Gruening and Ed Hayes.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to Pawportunities Animal Rescue out of Blue Spring, MO.  Donations may be made on their website
