Beverly Winona (Nixon) Kelliker May 18, 1928 – May 16, 2022

Beverly Winona (Nixon) Kelliker, 93, of Brunswick, MO, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO.  Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Brunswick, MO at 2:00 P.M.  Reverend Naftal and Reverend Jan Schnepf will officiate the service.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M.  A private burial will be held in Elliott Grove Cemetery at a later date.

Beverly was born on May 18, 1928 in Brunswick, MO, the daughter of John Henry and Winona (Sowers) Nixon.  She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1946.  On June 29, 1946, Beverly married the love of her life, James Kelliker.  Together they were blessed with one son, John Douglas.  After 51 years of marriage, James preceded her in passing on January 28, 1998.

After high school, Beverly went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Education from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO and her Master’s in Education from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. She taught 5th grade in Carrollton, MO for 31 years and was a counselor in Marshall, MO for 7 years before retiring.

Beverly was a faithful member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church, a member of Beta Sigma Phi (51 years) and a member of PEO (51 years).  She enjoyed playing bridge, growing pink roses, and golfing, especially at the old city course in Marshall, MO.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Anne Marie Kelliker (Brad) of Marshall, MO and Michael John Kelliker (Sara) of Raytown, MO; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Barb Kelliker of Marshall, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Winona; her husband, James; and her son, John Douglas Kelliker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Kelliker, Parker Kelliker, and John Stewart.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Brunswick United Methodist Church.  Donations can be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 West Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
