Ruth Louise (Koch) Duffield August 12, 1926 – May 3, 2022

Ruth Louise (Koch) Duffield, 95, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at her home in Mendon, MO.  Funeral services will be held at Breshears Memorial Chapel in Brunswick, MO on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.  Dr. David Kerr will officiate the service. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.  Burial will be in McCullough Cemetery in Triplett, MO.

Ruth was born on August 12, 1926 to Robert Carl and Edith (Small) Koch at their family home near Triplett, MO.  She graduated from Triplett High School in 1944 and went on to attend Kirksville State Teacher’s College.  On December 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert Duffield at the Methodist Parsonage in Brunswick, MO.  Together they were blessed with two children, Deborah and Ruth “Ellen”.

Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for Mendon Feed & Grain Company for 30 years and retired in 1996.  She was a member of the Mendon United Methodist Church in Mendon, MO and a member of the Brunswick American Legion Auxiliary.  Ruth loved spending time with her family, working on the farm, tending to the cows, and quilting.

Ruth is survived by one daughter, Ruth Ellen (Duffield) Lincoln of Linneus, MO; one son-in-law, Sidney Lewis of Brunswick, MO; four grandchildren, Chris Lewis of Mendon, MO, Jennifer (Lincoln) Allen and her husband Scott of St. Catherine, MO, Matt Lincoln and his wife Vanessa of Kearney, MO, and Justin Lewis of Mendon, MO; eleven great-grandchildren, Brock Allen, Adisyn Allen, Will Lincoln, Eli Allen, Jocelyn Lincoln, Rebekah Allen, Quinton Allen, Zach Lincoln, Hannah Allen, Kaitlyn Lewis, and Isaiah Allen; two step-grandchildren, Cord Allen and his wife Wendy and Shaniah (Allen) Moore and her husband Alex; and seven step-great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a daughter in infancy; her daughter, Deborah “Debby” Lewis; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Pauline Koch; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Max Robbins; and granddaughter-in-law, Laura Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Brock Allen, Eli Allen, Will Lincoln, Doug Koch, Ronnie Koch, and Ray Robbins.  Honorary pallbearers will be Zach Lincoln, Quinton Allen, Isaiah Allen, Matt Duffield, and Bill Kahler.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to McCullough Cemetery.  Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
