Jessie Lavern (Frock) Jenkins February 16, 1924 – February 28, 2021

Jessie Lavern (Frock) Jenkins, 97, of Brookfield, MO, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, MO.  Graveside funeral services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in DeWitt, MO on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 2:15 P.M.  Reverend Lanny Lybarger will officiate the service.  Visitation will be held at Breshears Memorial Chapel in Brunswick, MO on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M.

Jessie was born on February 16, 1924 in Hale, MO, the daughter of William and Stella (Cross) Frock.  On March 1, 1941 she married the love of her life, Wilbur Jenkins, in Linneus, MO.  She worked at the Banner’s Cookie Factory in Carroll County, MO for 10 years, remodeled houses in Chariton County, MO, and cleaned houses for several years before she retired.

Jessie was a Baptist in the Christian faith who loved her family, working, playing bingo, making handsewn quilts, refinishing furniture, collecting dolls and antiques, crocheting blankets, and fishing in the Missouri river.

Jessie is survived by her four children, Larry Jenkins of Brookfield, MO, Leona Madden and her husband Larry of Independence, MO, Linda Al-Hilfy and her husband Huni of Brookfield, MO, and Vern Jenkins of Chillicothe, MO; twenty-two grandchildren; over 60 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Verna Dean Carroll and her husband Bobby of Bosworth, MO.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wilbur; her parents; a set of infant twins; three sons, Rick Jenkins, Gary Jenkins, and Terry Jenkins; one grandson, Bob Madden; two infant granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter, Anna Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Larry Jenkins, Larry Madden, Randy Jenkins, Jeff Miller, Jimmy Jenkins, and Vern Jenkins.  Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Madden, Braden Stout, Jason Jenkins, and Kyle Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to Breshears Memorial Chapel to help with funeral expenses.  Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
